Missing British National Campbell Scott Found Dead in Makueni Forest

Makueni – The decomposing body of British national Campbell Scott was found in Makongo Forest, Kaiti Division, on Saturday, February 22. Herders stumbled upon the remains stuffed inside a green sack, raising fears of foul play.

Makueni County Police Commander Alice Kimeli confirmed the discovery. She stated that a post-mortem would be conducted on Tuesday, February 25, at Makueni County Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Campbell Scott’s Mysterious Disappearance

Scott, a 58-year-old senior director at FICO, had been missing for nearly two weeks. He was last seen on Sunday, February 16, leaving the JW Marriott Hotel in Westlands, Nairobi.

CCTV footage showed him wearing cargo pants and a blue shirt, waving at hotel staff before walking out. He appeared relaxed, unaware of the danger ahead.

Scott had traveled to Kenya for a three-day workshop organized by TransUnion, a licensed credit reference bureau. His colleague, Michael Edward, reported his disappearance at Parklands Police Station after he failed to attend meetings and could not be reached by phone.

Desperate Search Ends in Tragedy

Detectives launched an extensive search across Nairobi, checking bars and hotels in Westlands. However, they found no leads.

On Monday, February 24, officers from Nairobi, along with UK Embassy officials, traveled to Makueni to help identify the body. They later confirmed it was Scott.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had sought Interpol’s help before the shocking discovery.

Unanswered Questions and Ongoing Investigations

Authorities are now working to uncover the circumstances surrounding Scott’s death. How did he end up 200 kilometers away in Makueni? Was he kidnapped and murdered?

The discovery of his body in a sack suggests a possible homicide. Investigators are pursuing leads to determine who was behind his death and why.

As the post-mortem results await, his family, friends, and colleagues demand justice. The UK Embassy has pledged full cooperation with Kenyan authorities to ensure a thorough investigation.

The tragic fate of Campbell Scott has left many wondering—was he just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or was he a targeted victim?
