In a strongly worded statement released on Monday, July 28, the Ministry warned Kenyans to steer clear of any unsanctioned money claims related to the program.
“The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection wishes to alert the public about a fraudulent scheme currently circulating on social media, particularly WhatsApp, falsely operating under the name Inua Jamii Foundation Empowerment,” the Ministry stated.

To shield citizens, the Ministry emphasized the *use of E-citizen and USSD code 222# for any legitimate access to the Inua Jamii cash transfer system.
“Please ignore any links or messages shared through WhatsApp or other platforms claiming to offer Inua Jamii Foundation Empowerment funds,” the Ministry added.
Desperation Meets Deception: Fake Inua Jamii Scheme Exposed
The real Inua Jamii programme currently supports 1,759,656 vulnerable Kenyans, including orphans, the elderly, and people with severe disabilities. Each eligible beneficiary receives Ksh2,000 per month, disbursed through M-PESA or agents after verification.
However, scammers are exploiting the programme’s popularity and targeting uninformed citizens through digital fraud tactics.
