“He was sent by the National Security Council during the last election. Some people had threatened they’d deal with this guy later. There was no way General Ogolla was not going to become the next head of our military—and that is why he was taken out. General Francis Ogolla was taken out! No Kenyan believes the story of engine failure. He was taken out!” Kalonzo declared passionately.

Doubt Cast Over Helicopter Crash Report

While the government blamed the fatal helicopter crash on engine failure, Kalonzo dismissed the explanation entirely. He demanded a new, independent probe into the crash that claimed Ogolla’s life.

“What has happened is whitewashing of that situation. No one will believe that story unless there is an independent inquiry into his death,” he insisted.

Kalonzo urged Parliament to spearhead investigations, warning that such incidents have become disturbingly frequent.

“We need an independent inquiry, possibly by Parliament. These helicopter crashes need to stop,” he emphasized.
