Gov’t Warns Youth Over NYOTA Program Scams: “Applications Are 100% Free!”
On Monday, August 4, the NYOTA project administrators released a clear statement emphasizing that all NYOTA applications are free of charge. No applicant should pay for any form, connection, or follow-up.
Scammers Targeting Desperate Youth
The warning comes after dozens of complaints surfaced online, where unsuspecting applicants claimed they were asked to pay money to increase their chances of being selected.
Worryingly, several youth reported receiving WhatsApp messages from unknown numbers directing them to suspicious websites and offering fast-track services—at a fee.
But NYOTA administrators strongly dismissed these tricks.
Don’t Fall for Fake Links or Fees
The NYOTA team made it crystal clear—only their official social media pages and website will provide updates and legitimate information.

They urged all interested applicants to visit NYOTA offices or sub-county youth offices for accurate, free guidance.
“We caution youth against paying anyone for NYOTA access or information. The application is entirely free,” the statement added.
NYOTA: A Chance of a Lifetime
It targets over 820,000 unemployed and vulnerable youth, including persons with disabilities, through:
- Paid on-the-job training
- Entrepreneurship support
- Business development assistance
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certification
The application window opened on July 11, and the response has been overwhelming. Over 1 million applicants have registered in less than a month.
Stay Vigilant, Stay Informed

“Don’t lose your chance or money. NYOTA is free. Be wise, be safe,” the ministry urged.
