Gladys Wanga Now Claims Gachagua Has Mobilised Nyeri Goons to Disrupt Homa Bay Linda Mwananchi Rally
Wanga made the allegations during a women’s empowerment event held at Anding’o Opanga in Nyakach, where she warned that any attempts to cause violence during the opposition gathering would not be tolerated.
“You have sent people here to our home. You have deployed goons from Githurai, and sent some from Nyeri and other places. You are sending them here. We are very peaceful people. We plead with you not to bring your goons over here. Gachagua, don’t bring your goons here.”
Wanga said her administration had no objection to the Linda Mwananchi meeting and urged organisers and supporters to conduct the rally peacefully.

She said political gatherings should not be used to provoke violence or create tension among residents.
“We have no problem with Linda Mwananchi. Come in peace, talk in peace and go away in peace.”
The allegations come amid heightened political tensions surrounding the planned Homa Bay rally, which is expected to bring together opposition leaders and supporters.
Wanga Hits Back at Gachagua
The governor defended ODM as a national political organisation and dismissed suggestions that the party had lost its influence.
“Gachagua, I hear you say ODM is dead. ODM cannot be compared to your village party. ODM is a national party.”
She further urged the former Deputy President to stop referring to her and Raila during his political rallies.
“Remove my name from your mouth. Desist from mentioning Raila Odinga during your rallies.”
Wanga also revisited previous political tensions involving Gachagua and Raila, making allegations about events surrounding the period before the former ODM leader’s death.
The claims are likely to intensify the political exchanges between leaders aligned to different formations ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Opposition Raises Concerns Over Rally Security
The faction, previously associated with Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Siaya Governor James Orengo, had accused Wanga, Migori Governor Ochillo Ayacko and Homa Bay Town MP Opondo Kaluma of allegedly being involved in efforts to undermine the opposition meeting.

The leaders have not been convicted of any wrongdoing in connection with the allegations.
Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has since assured organisers that adequate security would be provided for the rally.
Leaders Attend Homa Bay Event
Wanga’s remarks came during an event attended by several leaders associated with President William Ruto’s administration.
Kibet contributed Ksh1 million, while Wanga also donated Ksh1 million.
The competing claims over the Homa Bay rally come as political alliances continue to shift ahead of the 2027 elections.
