Victims of Organ Trafficking Claim Their Lives Are in Danger After Suspicious Trailing
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, April 22, the victims described being trailed by unknown people. These chilling developments follow their bold decision to speak publicly about their experiences.
One male victim shared a terrifying escape.
“I had to jump over a fence and hide in a thicket. They were following me,” he recounted, visibly shaken.
Another victim, an elderly woman, believes she’s being targeted after speaking out.
“After I exposed all these things, people have since been following me, and I feel so scared,” she said.
“I have been reporting, but no one wants to listen to my report.”
No Help From Police
Despite repeated reports, victims say police are silent.
“I saw the person approaching me while I was heading home from the shop. When I turned and spotted him, he pretended to be going back to the shop,” another survivor narrated.
This silence from authorities has only worsened the fear. Victims now live in hiding, unsure of who to trust.

DCI Steps In
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced a probe into the organ trafficking claims. The Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) is leading the investigation.
“Whereas several such cases have been reported… TOCU takes over to harmonise all reports and statements,” read a statement from the DCI.
The DCI also urged victims with any information to record statements at their headquarters on Kiambu Road.
Parliament Joins the Fight
The National Assembly’s Committee on Health has also launched a comprehensive 80-day investigation into the Mediheal claims.
Committee Chair James Nyikal, the Seme MP, made it clear the issue runs deep.
“We will examine whether the procedures conducted at Mediheal adhered to Kenya’s legal and ethical standards,” he said.
The probe will focus on:
- Integrity of kidney transplants
- Involvement of foreign nationals
- Suspected transplant tourism
- Regulation of organ transplants in Kenya
A Cry for Protection
As investigations continue, victims are calling for protection. They want justice—but fear they may not live to see it.
