Duale explained that the Social Health Authority (SHA) submitted 190 files, while the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) forwarded 998 files.
He broke down the SHA files into categories.
“Category 1 has 24 facilities where fraud evidence is conclusive. Category 2 includes 61 facilities with ongoing cases. Category 3 has 105 facilities flagged despite cases closed earlier,” Duale said.
“This action targets fraudulent and non-compliant healthcare facilities and individuals. It marks a milestone in protecting public funds and safeguarding our healthcare system.”

Heavy Penalties Await

He stressed,
“If found guilty of fraud, owners face fines up to Ksh2 million, suspension, or removal from the SHA register.”
Duale revealed that a multi-agency taskforce had been formed. It includes the SHA, KMPDC, DCI, and DHA, all working together to dismantle fraudulent networks.
“Let me be clear: any facility, doctor, or patient engaged in fraud is now under the criminal justice system,” he declared.
